All businesses require reliable Internet and voice circuits and there are two ways you can go about getting them.
Directly contacting a telecommunications company yourself and working with one of their sales representatives. Alternatively, they may make first contact with you via a cold call.
Having a consultant like Bitstream contact multiple telecommunications companies (many times a dozen) and present the results, pricing, and recommendations to you, but only after doing a comprehensive review of your operations and infrastructure and available products and market prices.
We encourage you to consider Method Two, because:
It will end up costing you less, and you will have a superior experience and product.
It all comes down to how sales get made in the telecom industry. Every telephone company has two competing sales divisions, a direct side and an indirect side. The direct side is made up of the sales reps of Method One, and the indirect side are the independent consultants of Method Two. There is always a commission paid on any sale, and the telephone company either pays it to one of their direct employees (Method One) or an indirect partner (Method Two).
Since a commission is always paid, your service will cost you the same whether you choose to go about acquiring it via Method One or Method Two. So, why use Method Two via Bitstream? Because we will incentivize you to do so.
What do we offer, or, why do you win with this approach?
Free Project Implementation
With Method One the phone company will require that you schedule your IT and phone vendor to manage the transition (called the “cutover”). This can be several hours of planning (router and phone system programming) and several more hours for the actual on-site event, and usually costs hundreds of dollars. If you allow Bitstream to help you choose the best solution and act as your indirect sales representative, we will perform all the IT vendor and phone vendor duties at no charge. We will receive the commission from the phone company, instead of the phone company employee.
Free Firewall Router
If your needs are modest, you could get by without your own router, but if you want more advanced features on your network, then you’ll need your own router. We will supply an enterprise-class firewall router and do all of the programming for free. What features? Things like VPN to your home or another office, fine-grained firewall rules, and dual wifi antennas – one for company use and another for guest access. A conservative valuation of the hardware and programming is ~ $500.
When you work with Bitstream as your telecom consultant, you have an independent third party with a high level of technical expertise to help you evaluate quotes from many different companies. This is a superior position to be in compared to Method One. Even the most honest of direct sales reps will not recommend a product they cannot sell you.
A significant problem we see with clients that have previously acquired services via Method One is oversubscription. Oversubscription occurs when a business is sold more product than is required for their operations. We will find any in our site survey and eliminate it. We’ve cut our some of our clients monthly expenses by 50% by correcting faulty design configurations, and have the before and after bill copies to prove it. Ask us to show you.
Experience And Incentives
We’ve managed many telecom migrations, and some of our employees are former employees of the big telcos. We will manage the process end-to-end and take full responsibility for its success. The sales rep from Method One is focused on a monthly sales quota, and you won’t hear from them nearly as often after the deal closes. Bitstream’s success, on the other hand, depends on your success; that’s a powerful incentive. Let it work for your company.
